1970 Fiat 500 (2014-08-15-14HEC52) - CarPictures.com Posted: 15 Aug 2014 12:11 PM PDT About This 1970 Fiat 500Posted: 15 Aug 2014Known in Italy as the Cinquecento, the Fiat 500 was a "people's car" produced by Fiat company between 1957 and 1975. Launched in July 1957, designed by Dante Giacosa, the Nuova 500 was a successor to the Fiat 500 Topolino models and marketed as a low cost town car. Measuring just over 9 feet long and powered by a 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the Fiat 500 or "Bambina" is considered one of the first city cars, and an Italian classic! This Italian beauty has had restoration work and mechanical overhaul only 4800 km ago. This Fiat 500 has a sump Abarth oil pan (larger than standard), a sport silencer, Weber 28 carburetors, conical air filter, and 20mm wheel spacers. This is an excellent example of the Fiat 500! The engine needs mechanical work. The car also comes with a brand new 650cc engine including a new alternator, fan housing, alternator housing, air filter housing, thermostat housing, fuel pump, fuel pump spacer, push rod for fuel pump, carburetor, carburetor spacer, distributor, distributor fork, oil pressure switch, fan belt, and oil dipstick, and thermostat. These iconic historic cars are selling at auction for $30k+. 1985 Land Rover Defender 110 (2014-08-15 ... - CarPictures.com Posted: 15 Aug 2014 07:28 PM PDT About This 1985 Land Rover DefenderPosted: 15 Aug 2014This vehicle was built for a foreign market (UK). This truck has the very dependable land rover V8 motor with a 5 speed gear box. As I stated in the video, the gear box whines in 4th and 5th gears…..And let me say that all land rover gear boxes whine, but this is somewhat louder than some, but it works perfectly; no jumping out of gears and no hard shifting. These are cast iron motors and transmissions and they last forever. The frame on this truck is impeccable for a 1985 truck. This being an aluminium bodied truck, the brits do not send them to body shops for repair. They go to their home depot, buy 2 gallons of porch paint, and go at it with a roller and a brush; and that is exactly what you are going to get. The pictures don't lie. This truck was built and maintained as a daily driver. There are no oil leaks, no smoke, no shakes, no shimmies. The power steering on this truck makes it extremely easy to drive. All systems work on this truck….Every light, every interior light, directionals, headlights, fog lights….All work as they should. The radio works but does need the "code." All gauges operate as they should, including the fuel gauge. I remind you, this 29 year old technology will require maintenance and tweaking. Don't expect to have a maintenance free 'new car' experience. In Pictures: Designs for the World's First 3D Printed Electric Car ... Posted: 16 Apr 2014 03:32 AM PDT US car manufacturing maverick Local Motors has launched a competition to design the first 3D printed electric vehicle, and with entries already rolling in the final design is expected to wow. The competition, which is open for entries until 13th May, will be voted on by members of the Local Motors online community and judged by a group of experts including MakerBot CEO Bre Pettis. The chosen design will then be 3D printed using a Big Area Additive Manufacturing (BAAM) machine, the first large-scale 3D printer of its kind, at September's International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago, US. "This vehicle may well be the coolest vehicle on the planet, at least to those of us in manufacturing technology," said Rick Neff, manager market development for Cincinnati Inc, the company providing the BAAM machine. With over $10,000 in prize money, the competition has already attracted some strong contestants, with designs ranging from sophisticated but traditional to cool and zany. Here we profile some of our favourites from the entries so far. Spider Net by Chavito
Lithos by LuluTaking inspiration from classic racing cars, this design uses opposing tapered elements to crate a rigid triangulated overall structure. Some areas of the vehicle are kept soft to provide added protection if an impact occurs. 3D Printed City Car by Vasilatos IanisWith a design that resembles a mashup between a Borderlands Outrunner and a Tron bike, this dune buggy-style vehicle is our favourite of the entries so far. The designer, Vasilatos Ianis, has already submitted another more steampunky design, so we're expecting to see his name somewhere amongst the winners. Hantig Concept by Gabriel HantigIntended to be manufactured from just three components, this design forgoes doors in favour of a sleek, unbroken body complete with seats. With a front that some commenters have compared to designs by legendary Italian car design firm Pininfarina, this vehicle ties traditional design with a modern finish. 3DPCarXperiment by BraunarschAnother work in progress, this design is interesting because it plays up the 3D printed aspect by incorporating the characteristic additive lines into the vehicle's finish. The vehicle has a look that is quite reminiscent of a bumper car, so we're interested to see how this design progresses. |
1980 Lotus Esprit S2 (2014-08-12-14HB452) - CarPictures.com Posted: 12 Aug 2014 04:52 AM PDT About This 1980 Lotus EspritPosted: 12 Aug 2014This particular Non Turbo is, in my opinion, one of the most desirable versions. Lots of power and excellent response for this perfect mated 2.0L DOHC / 4 Speed + mechanical Overdrive The car runs beautiful, very strong and tight. Revs up with absolutely no efforts to 6700RPM and + The sound/music coming out of the muffler is very very unique, sweet and particular. Factory original Speedline Wheels, including the spare. New correct size Ft & Rr BridgestoneTires. P215/60R14 Ft. - P235/60R14 Rr. The wheels have being inspected and refinished by TURBAX Wheels. All the electricals are in good working condition, Lights, Windshield whipper, turn signals, etc. Previous owner had serviced the timing belt, valves, cylinder head gasket, etc. Very good oil pressure. Just replaced the transmission oil, engine oil & oil filter. New correct size Spark Plugs, new thermostat. Also the cooling system have being flushed, replaced the clutch and brake fluid, etc. The Radio/CD Player needs to be checked since is not getting power. Driving this car is a blast, amazing. Excellent handling and response. Very comfortable driving position. The very last piece from the Rr bumper is available and can be bolt back in, no problem. Also the mufller and Tail Pipes that came with the car, (RHS). To me it looks better without the 'Stopper' piece and the Tail Pipes located in the center.
